Tired of picking up trash and wiping down urinal walls to complete your community service? I know I am! In many schools community service hours are mandatory for graduation. If you’re not careful, you just might find yourself one square short. Why not serve in the most awesome way possible, by spending a week working alongside your best friends, old and new, while helping some amazing people who are in need? Some of the work we have done in the past includes: painting houses, decks, and porches; repairing roofs, gutters, and chimneys; installing windows and doors, and even demolishing a dilapidated house by hand. Now don’t get yourself in a bind, it won’t all be work. We will enjoy all the fun Elkhorn has to offer and even create some of our own! A student team will be leading us in worship and preparing us to dive into God’s word to learn how comparisons are robbing us of our joy and holding us back from becoming the men and women God intends for us to be.
Brennen Kelly is a worship leader and youth pastor at Wellsville First Christian Church. He is a father of 4 wonderful kids and has been married to his high school sweetheart for 12 years. Brennen is consistently ranked in the top ten of all youth pastors in the tristate area, as stated by one of his students, “Brennen is the best!” - origin unknown. He is the proud holder of the Guinness Book of World Records, for most altar calls given in one service - 11. His worship abilities are not to be overshadowed by his pastoral skills. His HRDW (hands raised during worship) ratio is an astonishing 75%. He sees himself as an innovator and trend setter. “No one has ever led worship quite like Brennen and probably, never will,” said a current member of WFCC who wishes to remain anonymous. “He has a voice like an angel,” said his Mom.
