FAMILY SERVICES HISTORY

In 1996, Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp came to the realization that there are countless individuals from all walks of life and of all ages who are struggling with stress and problems. Anyone who has ever dealt with a life-adjustment problem, an emotional upset or even a mental illness can understand how difficult it can be to find qualified, competent, Christian help. It is the desire, hope and prayer of Family Services, a department of Elkhorn, that we can answer this great need.

The Lord has provided for this program, and we pray for His continued guidance and direction. The camp leadership has allowed the program to have a director. Christy Craig filled this position from 1996 until her death in 2005. The Program's current director is Sissy Jackson, who lives at the camp year-round. This allows for her to be available for crisis intervention, information and referrals at all times. Additionally, Sissy is readily available during the Summer Camp season to provide services to the deans, their staff and the campers as needed.
